Cruising With Tia

“I love it when we’re cruisin’ together”  la la la. I know that the original song is referring to a nice long drive, but it really ought to be referring to the magic of going on a cruise! There are so many amazing things about cruises, but one of my favorites has to be the ability to pack ONE bag and still see multiple destinations. No need for a rental car, multiple check-ins and check-outs, worry about finding the best route to get you from destination A to destination B. It is easy peasy!

Cruise Ship

The most popular destinations among the cruising crowd are Alaska, Mexico, Europe and the Caribbean. There are ports all over the US that afford you the ability to travel comfortably between islands or destinations, in a relatively short time frame. From 3 days to 3 weeks (or more!), there are options for everyone!

Although cruising isn’t always 100% inclusive, your rate always includes your accommodations and all of your food! That is a HUGE benefit. You can choose chicken, lobster, pizza or pie. Or all! You name it, they likely have it. And you don’t have to pay a penny more! Maybe you don’t want to leave your beautiful balcony cabin? Room service is included too! The only thing you pay for is alcohol, excursions, pampering, and gratuities. Cruise lines often run specials where you can select an alcohol package at no additional charge, get free wi-fi, or obtain a discount on shore excursions.

If you are looking for a family friendly cruise line, I highly recommend Disney. Not only is there non-stop activity for the littles, but they have a ton of great options for parents too! Want to slip away for a little spa visit? You can! They offer on-board babysitting.

Alaska Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean is a great all around Cruise Line for their ports of call and overall experience. Both Princess and Holland America are known for their great quality and service, and offer some really amazing upscale dining options and luxury rooms. They also offer some of the best experiences in Alaska too.

Speaking of rooms, just like a hotel, cruises offer standard and upgraded rooms. I highly recommend cabins with balconies. Imagine being bundled up with your sweetheart, sipping coffee, while whale watching among the glaciers of Alaska. Or, see yourself gazing upon the limitless and vast ocean with waves lapping and a secluded white sandy beach on the horizon. Or, visualize an architecturally stunning city that seems to balance on the water, while sipping wine with a fruit and cheese plate.  Yep, sounds pretty awesome, right?

I plan to share specific cruising destinations with you here so stay tuned! Which ones do you want more information on?
