Yuma, AZ and Palm Springs, CA
I was on Facebook today and it reminded me of these photos that I took last year when I took my family on a vacation to Yuma, AZ and Palm Springs, CA. My mom lives in Yuma for about half the year and has a house there now so I decided to go visit her. She is a snowbird (people who escape the cold winters and spend it somewhere sunny and warm) so we don’t see her at Thanksgiving or Christmas anymore. There is a huge retirement community in Yuma and we definitely felt like the youngest people in town. We had lots of fun getting to know my mom’s friends and her significant other’s family too.
I had also won a trip to Palm Springs through an event that I attended for my job. I attend these events several times per month and they are focused on educating travel professionals on various destinations, new suppliers, specials, resort and hotel updates and more. They usually give away prizes at these events and I won a 3-night stay at the Saguaro plus dinner for 2 people. Of course, I was going to take advantage of this gift!
My family had a great trip and it was especially nice to have my kids spend time with grandma. They really enjoyed the pool at the Saguaro as it was a very lively atmosphere and they had fun pool toys like pizza and donuts. In the afternoon, the pool turned more adult in nature and here is a video of what I am talking about.
I hope you enjoyed my little trip down memory lane!
