To the south, Prince William Sound has more than 150 spectacular glaciers, icebergs, and a variety of sea life. To the north, Denali National Park and Preserve is home to not only North America's highest peak, Mt. McKinley, but also to wildlife including the bald eagle. Outdoor enthusiasts will never be at a loss for excitement in Alaska. Enjoy a whale-watching expedition, fish for salmon and trout, or take a kayak to explore the glaciers close-up.

Day 1: Anchorage / Cruise
Depart Anchorage and drive the scenic route to Whittier to meet your cruise of Prince William Sound. You will pass through a toll tunnel just as you enter town. Board a high speed catamaran for a glacier and wildlife cruise into Prince William Sound. Watch for sea otters, seals, and birds as you travel through glacier-filled College and Harrimann Fjords.
Overnight in Anchorage.
Day 2: Anchorage to Talkeetna
Drive to Matanuska Glacier and meet with your guide at Mica Guides for an unforgettable ice fall trek, advanced trek, or ice fall climb. Extend your day with a heart stopping zip line tour. Experience close-up views of the best accessible features of the glacier including crevasses, seracs and unique ice formations as well as getting up to a high point with great views of the the ice fall.
Overnight in Talkeetna.
Day 3: Talkeetna
Spend a day in the scenic and historic town of Talkeetna. Take a walking tour of downtown, relax at your hotel and admire views of Mt. McKinley, or go for a hike.
Other options include ski-plane flights to land on a glacier on Mt. McKinley, fishing, rafting or a jet boat tour.

Day 4: Talkeetna to Denali National Park
Continuing northward from Talkeetna the massive peaks of the Alaska Range are in view nearly the entire route. At 6 million acres, Denali National Park is one of the world’s last great frontiers for wilderness adventure.
You will embark on a three-hour rafting trip down the Nenana River. Choose to paddle as a team or let the guide do the work on this exciting rafting trip. Enjoy every minute of your journey as you head for Healy, 11 miles down river. Get into real whitewater rafting as you hang on through thrilling rapids such as "Cable Car", "Coffee Grinder", and "Ice Worm"! Rapids are class III with one class IV.

Day 5: Denali National Park
Depart on a bus tour of Denali National Park. This 6 to 8 hour tour takes you approximately 55 miles into the park. As you travel through the pristine park region. Take a hike in the afternoon to Horseshoe Lake or Mt. Healy Overlook.

Day 6: Denali to Chena Hot Springs Resort
Today, continue on the Parks Highway north to Fairbanks. Accompanied by incredible forest and mountain landscape, you will drive through the communities of Healy, Nenana, and Ester, an old mining camp.
Continue through Fairbanks to Chena Hot Springs Resort. You will pass by the scenic Chena River Recreation Area along the way.

Day 7: Chena Hot Springs
The day is at your leisure to enjoy all the resort has to offer. Enjoy the natural mineral hot springs and take a tour of the Ice Museum.
Optional activities include dog kennel tours, flightseeing, ATV tours, horseback riding, hiking, mountain biking, and a massage. Weather permitting; you may even have opportunities to see the aurora borealis from the resort in the evening. Aurora wake-up calls can be arranged with the front desk staff.

Day 8: Chena Hot Springs to Fairbanks
On your last day you may have time for a couple different options including the Arctic Circle. Begin this tour with a small plane flight from Fairbanks and land across the Arctic Circle in a ceremonious fashion, where you will receive an official Arctic Circle certificate. Enjoy a walk on the treeless arctic tundra, which will give you a sense of the vast scale of Alaska's arctic regions. A 2.5-hour ground tour of a rural community is included. Your return flight provides another opportunity to see the Yukon River, the Brooks Range, Gates of the Arctic National Park, and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline from the air.
