River Cruises

River cruising isn't really a destination per se but it is a method of getting to a destination that is very popular. Why? There are several factors. Some people don't enjoy the typical escorted group tours where you all get on a big motorcoach every day and you pack and unpack every 1-2 nights.

With river cruises, it is like you are staying on a luxurious, floating, boutique hotel that follows you. You can find a river cruise suited to any taste level and age group because, as the demand rises, there will be more options the river cruise companies will offer.

River cruises are typically best for educated and active people who are looking for a deeper immersion into each port's culture and history. Also, since the ships are small (they typically hold less than 200 people) you can really connect and make friendships with the people on board. You can even find cruises that focus on various interests like wine, chocolate, cooking, spa, wellness and more.

Another appeal of river cruising is the all-inclusive nature of the trip too. Many cruise lines include wine and beer at meals and at least one excursion at each port you stop in. Some offer even more!

River cruising is perfect for people who are seeking a relaxed tour of Europe and enjoy the sights along the river's edge and for adventurous folks who want to explore Europe beyond the coastline.
